blessings of the temple

it has been officially one year from today (August 4th) that I went through the temple for the first time. time has flown by so fast! I am so grateful for the many wonderful blessings I have received & the great experiences I've had attending sessions in different temples throughout the past year.

I went through the first time at the San Diego temple. it has always been my dream since this temple is pretty much like a princess castle! it is so beautiful to see as you are driving through La Jolla.

Mom, dad, Derrick & Austin attended the temple with me that day. it was also really special to see some ward members & singles branch members in the temple who were there for my friends Brandie & Ryan's sealing. (happy anniversary!!)

Brandie & Ryan's reception later that night

it was such a special day & it was truly the beginning of a wonderful opportunity I would get to have for the rest of my life. Austin & I have made it a goal to go every month & we have stuck to it! we enjoy our temple trips & enjoy being able to spend that time together to feel the peace & wonderful spirit in the temple.

I am so grateful for my expanded knowledge of the gospel & Heavenly Father's plan for me & for all His children. although I may not understand it all to the fullest extent, I know & believe all that has been taught to me because of the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Austin & I have received so many blessings in this nearly first year of marriage & we know that these blessings come from faith & obedience to the gospel.

Austin & I have been able to go to a few different temples this past year:

San Diego, California Temple

Seattle, Washington Temple

St. Louis, Missouri Temple

Nauvoo, Illinois Temple

what is so special is that no matter where you are or which temple you go to, it is all the same. the church is universal & so organized. the gospel principles are the same & there is a special instant connection with those of your same faith. what is also really special is that each temple is very unique & special in their design. I just love the little details that make all the difference.

so grateful for the gospel in my life & for temples! so glad it is a place where we can escape from the cares of the world & just focus on feeling the Spirit & increasing our understanding of our purpose here on earth.
